What are Tcp Wrappers and Packet Filters?
Tcp wrappers control who is allowed to access the services run via inetd. And packet filters control exactly which packets are allowed to move in and out of each NIC. Both allow and deny certain things to happen based on a set of rules that are checked in order. The first rule to match the item being tested is the rule that gets applied.
