(Answer) (Category) SCO UnixWare 7/OpenUNIX 8/OpenServer 6 FAQ : (Category) Third Party Software and How to Compile Open Source Software :
What are some good backup solutions? (Lonetar, Backup Edge, Backup Professional)
I've used Lone Star and Backup Edge for years and I swear by them. Both of these have Emergency Recovery software.

http://www.microlite.com/ For Backup Edge and Recover EDGE.

http://www.cactus.com/ For Lonestar and Airbag.

I've used Airbag and RecoverEDGE. They both have a bunch of nice features.

Beware of the Putfront, though. Backup Professional is another product by Cactus and it worked well for me.

When using Lonetar on Uw7/OSR6, it will modify the access times of all your files that it backs up, corrupting your security privilege database (initprivs). This can be fixed with setpriv -x as described elsewhere in this Faq. This can be prevented by editing the Ltar.X.cron and Ltar.X.tape files in /etc/lone-tar, where you would replace the 'X' with 'M' 'V' 'S' and 'I' for Master, Verify, Selective, and Incremental. The details are in the new Lonetar online Faq. You'll end up searching for OPTIONS= and removing any lower case 'a'.
