What is a Fully Qualified Domain Name?
A Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) is the complete name for a computer that specifies it on a network. It consists of the nodename + domain name:
     tortola.sco.com
     doc.sco.com
     www.sco.com
     luke.mydomain.net
     www.deepspace.ucsb.edu
A FQDN is the human-friendly representation of the IP address for a host on a network.
